Tonight Kayla and I were M.C. for the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce. We performed as "Pearl and Ruby". We had a wonderful time, but we were also there to honor our dear friend and teaching partner, Teresa Collett. I love Teresa. She is a wonderful friend, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and TEACHER! She so deserved this honor. She has been so helpful to me as I teach. Summer before last....just a few weeks before her daughter's wedding, she found out she had breast cancer. When she shared the news, we were in shock..denial...not OUR Teresa! We prayed and prayed with her....right there in the classroom or even in the car or in her home! She spent half the next school year at home while taking chemo. We missed her so much! She adds such spark to our team...she has the most wonderful humor and shares amazing stories. She takes such time with her students and cares for them all. Teresa made it back to school after Christmas last year. She has been an example of strength and stamina and faith. Thank you God, for blessing our school with a wonderful teacher like Teresa. Thanks for blessing our lives with a friend like Teresa and thank you for allowing her to come back to teach with us!
